Safeguarding is the responsibility of all adults and especially those working or volunteering with children.
Safeguarding is the responsibility of all adults and especially those working or volunteering with children.

Lift Wishmore is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and young people.
We expect all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment and maintain a vigilant and safe environment. In addition, we believe that all those who come into contact with children and families in their everyday work, including practitioners who do not have a specific role in relation to child protection, have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
Safer Recruitment
Prior to employment all staff (paid or voluntary) are DBS checked for their suitability to work with children and young people.
Once the member of staff joins our school, they complete online Safeguarding training provided by Educare and sign an online AET Code of Conduct. Refresher training is provided every academic year by either one of the safeguarding team or an outside provider. This training informs staff of all their responsibilities as indicated in the 'Keeping Children Safe' (2024), DfE guidance which includes signs and symptoms, and advice and guidance about what to do in the event of a concern.
Visitors
All visitors must sign in at reception and read the Visitor Information Sheet. They are issued with a visitors lanyard which must be worn at all times and then supervised whilst on site.
Concerns
If you have any concerns around any Lift Wishmore students please contact dsl@liftwishmore.org
